It is with great sadness that I will write my father's last entery. He loved writing, addressing unjustise where it happened, his country, football, live, and his family. He will be remenber always for the things he has done, his laughter, his writings and the impack his life left on ours.
He died of a strock watching football on TV he went quietly into the light on March 4th, 2007. He was 80 years old a veteran of the US army WWII. He will be crematied given a Veterans funeral and his ashes will be laid to rest at the Veteran Memorial in Holly Michigan. His Wife Donna, his 4 childred and 6 grand children thank you for his support.

The Alsabaah newspaper in Iraq reports 74
terrorist killed including an Egyptian Al Queda
leader. 92 arrested and munitions destroyed.
20 families returned to their homes. The success
of the sweep in Baghdad with only one of 5 US
Brigades deployed is remarkable. Did you read
this in your newspaper? I don’t think so.
The award of a Congressional Medal of Honor
was buried on page 15 of NYT and similarly
buried by most newspapers. A woman was
awarded the Silver Star in Iraq. Do you know
this Hero’s name? It was Mary Ann Hester.
She should have been treated like Sargent York
but honoring Hero’s is passe I guess and I wonder
if we are better off. I read Alsabaah daily on the
internet. Perhaps a more balanced MSM would
change our perspective, but is our responsibility
to search for the truth.

LINCOLN AND BUSH

Andy Rooney was a reporter for Stars and Stripes in World
War II. He disliked Gen. Patton because of way he used his
Troops. Patton pushed them to the limit of their endurance.
Andy got an e-mail from Patton’s Daughter. It said Gen.
Patton would not like you. General Grant was called Lincoln"s
drunken butcher but Abe said " Find out what’s he is drinking
and give it to rest of Generals" The bloody battle at Shiloh
should have been a defeat for Grant but he reorganized his troops
and drove Rebels back to Mississippi. The horrific number of
dead and wounded shocked the country. Hospitals were filled with
the horribly wounded in all the northern cities all the way to
Chicago. Support for the war declined and NYT attacked
Lincoln and Grant relentlessly The Democrats wanted to
surrender and even his Republican party started to desert
Lincoln. Grant and Lincoln prevailed and Grant became a
President . I see similarities today as President Bush pushes
ahead for victory in spite of declining support. Andy Rooney ,
The Democrats and the NYT were wrong before and I am
sure they are wrong now.
There are those who see similarities to Vietnam. If we lift
our skirts as Hillary promises to do then we will see another
killing field with evil men who see nothing wrong with killing
60 babies lined up at a day care center. President Bush is doing
the right thing and deserves our support. The Iraq newspaper
Alsabah reported on the success of the recent initiator in
Bagdad . If conditions improve dramatically before the Elections
in 2008 I see a lot of back tracking and a huge Republican
victory. remember you read it here

The relucence of our MSM to report from Iraq only
the number of Bombing incidents and seldom what
is actually happening led me to look for daily reports
from Iraq from Alsabah, The leading Newspaper in
Bagdad and Iraq. For some strange reason I seem to
have a different view of future of Iraq.

Everyday, Iraqis touch new success in the plan as they see progress in
security and more families go back home where many forces stand
there to receive them proper neighborhoods.However, terrorists feel
more bitterness and defeat while their allies increase protests via their
media in support of Arab and Iraqi media, a matter that we expected
before. Yesterday's fabricated story on so-called Sabrina who claimed
being raped by Iraqi officers was made for the bad aim of defusing the
security plan and defaming Iraqi forces reputation and plant dismay among
people let alone distrust of the plan, whereas several politicians were
exited rapidly to cry against the plan in a fabricated play to affect the
political process in Iraq..

THRILL OF VICTORY AGONY OF DEFEAT

Have you ever made a game saving tackle or stole the
ball for the winning basket. The adrenalin flows and
you are on another plain. You have performed beyond
your expectations and the feeling is hard to explain. Our
country experienced that feeling on VJ day. The relief
that we would not be involved in any more combat was
a pleasant shock that took days to overcome.
Now we are engaged in a different war against Terrorist
who wish to destroy our way of life and inflect Shina law
on the world. Victory over such a intangible enemy
will be hard to define as they will fold up there tents
and silently steal away as the anarchists did in the past.
A vibrant Iraq will bring prosperity to the Middle East
and a growing economy will lift all boats. Iraq has a
head start with 70 Billion dollars in oil revenue to distribute
and invest.
The operation "Rule of law " has been encouraging in spite
of the horrific Market bombing this morning,
President Bush wants to feel the Trill of Victory While
Congress and the MSM want to settle for the Agony of
Defeat.
I know what choice I want to pursue.

FAULTY INTELLIGENCE ???

The media insist that faulty intelligence led to Iraq war.
But was the intelligence that faulty. The declassification
and interpretation of Iraq intelligence documents seems to
present clear and convincing evidence that the intelligence
was pretty good. The argument was made that if intelligence
was faulty on Iraq then it must be faulty on Iran. Reasonable
review leaves little reason to doubt Iranian reports except
to criticize president Bush.
Under Bill Clinton’s watch our intelligence agency’s were
not allowed to compare data per memo from Jamie Gorlick
of Reno’s Justice Department. Don’t you have to ask why
they would do that? It could not improve our security or
intelligence gathering. I believe Bill Clinton did not want
domestic and foreign agencies to compare notes because
of his involvement with the Chinese. The Senate Committee
set up to investigate Chinagate was derailed and obfuscated
by Senator Levin so no charges were made and Senator
Thompson left Congress disgusted by the process.
Under President Bush all our agencies correspond and report
to one man.
Every time I hear " Faulty intelligence" I think of Bill Clinton
who put personal needs above those of our country.

WHAT LIE IS BUSH ACCUSED OF ??
The " Bush lied " credenza seems to be growing louder.
A meaningless resolution to embolden the terrorist and
embarrass Bush is being debated in Congress and calls for
impeachment are being heard from far left. I have not
heard of a resolution on how to defeat the Terrorist.
Maybe there long range plan is to ;lift up skirts and run.
But what lie did Bush tell? The now famous 16 words in
his state of union address were factual. Emerging Iraq
intelligence Documents have clearly and convincingly
proved that Al-Queda was in Iraq before 9/11, Saddam
was ordering yellowcake uranium, WMD were in Iraq
and being developed and the war was the right decision.
The American people were not miss led. So what was the lie.
The recent horrific bombings in Iraq are a last ditch effort
to convince the left the war cannot be won. The NYT and
Washington Post are waging a huge propaganda campaign
in support of terrorist. They feel victory will be defeat of
President Bush not the defeat of the terrorist or what. Does this
sound like an Orwellian world A defeat in Iraq would have
catastrophic consequences but the left would be able to force
Socialism on what used to be a great Country.

My Blog " Do The Right Thing" was published as
letter to editor in The Oakland Press. It was not
truncated, a first. I received a call from an Irate
Liberal who said " Anybody who compares Bush to
Lincoln Has got to be a Moran" and hung up. My
intelligence has been questioned before. In Middle
School we took a test to determine what courses we
should pursue in High School I had second highest
score and the assumption was that I cheated based on
my poor academic history so I was required to take
test again in a locked room by myself and I scored higher
much to the Schools consternation. My Mother took me to
a psychiatrist who I was just fine and not a Moran.
Lets fast forward to Army basic training. I was just 18
and not yet shaving. I seemed to goof up all the time
and was on KP so much I was afraid I would miss
required classes to graduate. One morning at roll call
the Sargent said we had 10 men out of 200 who
qualified for Officers Candidate School and as I read
names you will step forward and be taken to interviews.
My name was first on list and he turned to Company Clerk
and said this is wrong list. The clerk insisted it was correct
And Sargent turned to Company and said do you want
that Moran to be your lieutenant ? I refused offer to be an
officer I did not think I was going to be a Private. But I
was one of the 125 who graduated.
So my caller was not the first to call me a Moran.
People question President Bush’s intelligence and I
wonder how many of them could be a Jet Pilot and a
Harvard MBA. As my Blog Asserted, I think President
Bush is doing the right thing.

Hillary ,when told of huge oil Company profits, first reaction
was the money should go to the Government. Hillary believes
profits belong to the Government. News of this astounding
statement has been effectively curtailed and you will not see
it in your local paper as her staff is working overtime to
control the damage. Hillary said in a speech" If I am President
in 2009 I will end this War" Translated I take this to mean
I will teach our military how to lift up there skirts and run.
She is a anti-war activist from the sixties and wants to be
Commander in Chief of our Military.
Rush has been playing her comments before 9/11 and now
to highlight the duplicity of this women. They are truly
enlightening.

When they sold lots on land contracts for the Whitewater
real estate venture they put in a n unusual clause. It stated miss
one payment and lose the lot. One man was taken to Hospital and
missed his last payment and Hillary took lot back. What character
and unusual business ethics.
Invested $10,000 in cattle futures and made $100,000 in one day.
Her broker went to jail.
Found billing records from Rose Law firm in her bedroom. The
records showed she lied to grand jury and double billed clients
along with Webb Hubbell. Webb went to jail
The disclosures of the Whitewater investment sent the Macdougal’s
to Jail.
Accused the Travel office of embezzling money so she could
have Arkansas people run Travel office. Jury took 5 minutes
to find members of travel office innocent of all her charges.
She said in her speech announcing her run for President that
Health Care would be a priority. Hillary spent the first two
years of Bill’s presidency working on a health care plan.
The results were a nightmare of bureaucratic pyramids and
regulations that would have paralyzed health care. Hillary
even wanted to control education of Doctors and where they
could practice.
The plan devised by smartest women in world was so bad she
could not even get the support of the Left Wing in Congress
and I don’t believe got one vote. A Major embarrassment.
Now she wants to try again.
In this great land of ours there are people who believe she
should be our President.
God help us.

BIPARTISANSHIP IS OXYMORON

Bipartisanship is Oxymoron
If one partisan believes in small government, low taxes
and reduced regulation and the other partisan believes in
a large government supported by high taxes and desire to
regulate everything, What can they agree on? The term is an
oxymoron because two diametrically opposed viewpoints
would find little to agree on except time of day and they can’t
even agree on that. People seem to agree with Rodney King
when he said " can’t we all just get along" The answer is no
because the left and right fundamentally disagree and do not
understand each other. Each is so sure he is correct that
opposition to his view is look at with total disbelieve. Supply
side economics has succeeded every time it has been tried but
the lure of a classless society with everyone sharing equally
has a been a magnet for the poor and oppressed that allows
social and communist societies to continue to appear but they
do not last.They allow everyone to share poverty equally.
I would distrust any plan that says it has bipartisan support.
In negotiations with Unions management would make concessions
to keep there company operating. Bipartisanship is handled the
same way in Congress you give them something to obtain
something. Neither side wins. The left under FDR was in charge
till Carter exposed the weakness of there philosophy, It will
take several years for the right to gain the control FDR had
and put this country on the Right tract.

WE MUST DEFEAT THE ENEMY

President Bush’s plan is the only plan calling for the defeat of
Al-Quada. The other suggestions are some form of withdrawal
or defeat. How can anybody even think of surrender to an enemy
who blows up day care centers and murders 50 babies or the more
recent bombing of University students. Why waste your venom
on Bush. He did not murder babies. The enemy did and Bush wants
to fight the enemy. If the Day Care or University was in your city

future of Iraq. I had to wipe away tears as I read the following.

Paul W. Smith an d wife were in a receiving line to meet
President Bush and wife at a holiday event. Mrs Smith
told the President she admired his endurance at dealing
with the weighty issues of day and shaking hands and
posing for pictures. As they turned to leave The President
tugged at her arm and said "You know, its easy when you
are sure what you are doing is right."
We had a Basketball team her in Detroit whose motto was
play the game the right way and they won the championship.
We once had a President who was embroiled in an unpopular
war, was criticized by media and portrayed as a country bumpkin,
who’s leading General wanted to run against him for President,
and he ignored their advise. He felt what was doing was right.
His most famous speech was ridiculed by reporters who probably
did not hear much of his brief remarks. Today Historians
agree on his greatness and accomplishments because he did the
right thing. We now have a President similarly besieged
and making hard decisions and to hear him say " It’s not hard
when your doing what’s right" was encouraging. I believe
he is doing the right thing for the peace of the world and
I am sure future Historians will agree he was doing the
RIGHT THING

Those of you who remember China from the long March
and the padded uniforms better think again The Picture is
a traffic jam in Xiamen, South China. It looks like we come
a long way baby. Chinese stock market reforms which allowed
previously non-tradeable state owned shares to be converted into
ordinary stock and sold for cash The top 50 executives now
own over 40 billion yuan or 5.1 billion dollars. My previous
post was on creating wealth and China, despite a Communist
Government, is unlocking the door to unprecedented wealth
creation. They and their neighbor India are unlocking the door
to unprecedented creation of wealth that has already moved
millions from poverty. The huge economies growth will
improve lifestyles of entire world. ‘A raising tide raises all
boats" We are witnessing the birth of a new world and I just
turned 80 and can only visualize the future.

A HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR
Prosperous is the key word. People in China and India
have been rising out of poverty in record numbers.
Iraq has been moving towards a prosperous country with
70 billion dollars in oil exports predicted for 2007.
People don’t want to fight wars or be terrorized when
the standard of living is improving.
The liberals is this country seem to think that wealth is
an infinite number and has been divided inequality.
So they must Tax the rich and redistribute wealth. This
discourages the ability to create more wealth, Conservatives
want to allow a free economy in which you can be all
that you want to be. Socialism has never succeeded because
it makes everybody poor and reduces incentive to create
wealth. We hear liberals complain about CEO salaries
and huge bonus received by some brokers but these people
created wealth. They did not steal there bonus from some
poor laborer who has yet to improve himself.
So lets have a prosperous New Year that will lift many
more out of poverty and towards improved life style.
I apologize for not blogging during holidays. My lovely
Wife fell on Christmas Eve and scared me but she is recovering
well with no broken bones. I am reminded of an old Louis
Armstrong blues refrain " What did I do to be so black and
Blue"

WINTER SOLSTICE AT CHICHEN-ITZA

The winter solstice and the Castillo at Chichen-Itza
will show the Serpent return to the underworld from
which it came during the summer solstice. I think it
remarkable that the Maya could build such a huge
structure so mathematically accurate without what
we call tools. When I dug a trench for foundation
for an addition to my house I was a foot off in a
20 by 25 foot addition. I stand in awe of this remarkable
achievement but I guess it didn’t impress Mel Gibson.

SHOULD BELIVE ASSOCIATED PRESS

AP , The Associated Press, the wire service that furnishes
wire stories to our newspapers is once again responsible
for reporting news of questionable veracity designed to
impeded our war effort and negatively reflect public opinion.
You may remember the Murder on Haifa Street in which
two young Iraq election workers were brutally murdered
in full few of AP Reporter and Camera man in what appeared
to me to be a staged event. The reporting from AP has
been increasingly negative on our war effort from a
news reporting agency that is supposed to report news
not editorialize. Now it has appeared they have manufactured
a negative story. They reported that a Iraq Police Captain
reported Sunni"s were burned alive by a Shie mob. A report
that inflamed sectarian violence. That happened on Nov. 11th
and nobody has found Captain Jamil Hussein inspite of
efforts by authorities and investigating reporters. AP can
not produce the Police Captain. Columnist Michelle Malkin
has been invited by blogger iraqslogger.com to Bagdad to assist
and report on the hunt for the mythical Captain. Michelle’s
reporting has been outstanding and I expect some sort of
apology from AP but the damage is done.
When you sit down to read your newspaper check byline
before you decide on veracity of the report. It is little
wonder support for President Bush and the war is failing
with biased and manufactured news from a major news source.

POOR ECONOMY ???

POOR ECONOMY ???
I see many articles in news blaming this or that on poor
Economy. I wonder what my Economics Professor would
say if I defined to days economy as poor. I don’t think I
would get a passing grade. Using the now famous Misery
Index there have been few periods since 1960 lower.
An unemployment figure below 5% is nearly equal to
full employment. There will always be people losing jobs
and looking for better ones. The total when I went to School
was defined as full employment when the rate fell below
5%. The rate today is determined differently and full
employment is probably 3% now. I hear Democrats brag
about good economy under Bill Clinton but even after he
falsified economic data when Bush was elected the Misery
Index for both Presidents average is equal. So why is this
a bad Economy? Be cause a biased media says its so. I fear
we have become a nation numbed robots answering the
bell as Orwell predicted. The answer is a better educated
populace but our Educators have been seduced by Left
Wing propaganda as predicted by Lenin and Marx. We
will have a difficult future but the idiocy of left
philosophy will become apparent and we will eventually
prevail or fail as a Country.

BRIGHT FUTURE FOR IRAQ

news from Iraq. Revenues from oil have steadily improved
and predictions are for 40 billion dollars next year. The
Iraq government has resolved the issues of how to distribute
this money evenly among Kurds, Shiites and Sunnis They
are reviewing plans to distribute 30% of this money to Iraq
citizens and doubling wages of civil servants. This prosperity
will increase Economic activity exponentially.
From 1945 to 2003 8374 businesses were licenced. From
April 2003 thru 2005 over 20,00 businesses were licensed
with 256 last month. All of this economic activity from a
country described as a quagmire by the ISG, Iraq Surrender Group,.
The graft and corruption still exist in Iraq and is slowing up
development. The Iraq Government passed a Foreign Investment
Law encouraging investment in Iraq. All of this is happening in
a country with huge security problems and on verge of a Civil
War???? General Motors has plans to build a plant that will produce
200,000 automobiles a year and I am sure Toyota and other are
considering the same. A fast developing China and India are
not military treats to the US any more because you don’t go
to war with your economic customers. The Dinar is holding its
value well and the Iraq stock Market is showing good gains.
Improvements in the infrastructure by collation forces are
being made. Much of Iraq is stable with terrorist being confined
to Bagdad and the so called Sunni triangle. The capture of the
notorious Bagdad Sniper and destruction of his group was not
reported in MSM. I wonder why/
I see a bright future for Iraq with a free market economy that
will equal that of Germany And Japan after our occupation.
Rome was not built in a day but it was built and so will Iraq
rise to world prominence.

A SOCIETY OF CLASSES JAPAN 1945

My lovely wife said I would get more hits if was not
so political. She is probably right as she usually is.
In Japan in 1945 I worked in the 32nd Division Post Office
in Fukuoka, Japan. My job was to locate shipments of mail
and truck it back to Division Post Office. In the chaotic
first days of Occupation mail was being dropped off on
beaches because ships could not dock in mined harbors.
I was given a crew of Japanese laborers to do the
physical work and a driver from motor pool to drive truck.
I was on the go so much that for two weeks I never
changed clothes. I had 5 Japanese that were with me
most of this detail. We became friendly and my Japanese
language improved. After we had a break and things settled
down a little I offered to buy the a beer. We had to go to a off
limits neighborhood bar. They tried to explain to me the
class society as it existed in Japan. If your parents were Police
you would be Police. If parents were teachers you would be
teacher. Education was geared to you potential. The guy who drove
cart that gathered honey buckets, term for human waste placed at
doorstep in-place of sewer system, never graduated from high school.
The intermarriage between groups was striking and you could even
recognize certain classes buy there physical characteristic. As this
was being explained to me one of them asked what my Father Did
and I replied he was a Butcher. The uproar in the Bar startled me.
They kept saying I must be wrong. I must have used wrong Japanese
word. They said after work tomorrow we will show you a Butcher.
They took me thru allays in another off limits area and showed me
a Butcher. Open air bench meat and chickens covered with flies
as was the blood soaked Butcher. It turns out that a Butcher was a
lower class than the Honey Bucket collector. A friend and went to
eat at a restaurant in Arkansas during my Army basic training. The
sign on door Said" Niggers, Dogs and soldiers keep out " now I find
out I am even lower than that on the class system. I had my Dad
send some pictures of our store and quieted the uproar. I now
understand what it would be like to live in a society where
class was a major factor. Maybe this was not a political blog but
the experience taught me about compassion. Richard

ECONOMY IN CHINA

A 100% Singaporean reader of my blog and I have exchanged
some emails. China has been in News lately because of the
Auto Show in Beijing. I regret to say that the reports I read
focused on pollution and fail to recognize Huge economic gains
of last few years in China. & million new car were sold in China
last year making China the number two buyers of automobiles in
the world. US is first with 16 million sold. I can remember when
Henry Ford started an assembly line to build the Model T and paid
his workers $ 5.00 dollars a day. An unheard of amount when
prevailing wages were $1.25 per day. Henry said " If I want to sell
a car for $500.00 I have to have buyers who can afford to spend
$500.00". The economic revolution in a country that is still
Communist is remarkable. China’s entry into free market and supply
and demand production shows once again that people do well
without Government regulations and interference. The Items
I have bought for Christmas all say " Made in Chins". The Liberals
say we are outsourcing our jobs and manufacturing plants but
our economy is growing and unemployment figures are very low.
I see India as the next big country to embrace the free market and
grow at rapid rate. I don’t see this as threat to US but a huge
opportunity to grow with them and increase living standards
thru out the world. Henry Ford was right and the US prospered.
The same philosophy should make the world prosper. General
Motors has plans to build Auto’s in Iraq. Maybe a terrorist will
have second thoughts when life becomes enjoyable on earth

LIBERALS MORE COMPASSIONATE?

A recent TV special by John Stossil and a column by
Tom Sowell examined the question " Who is more
compassionate Liberals or Conservatives". The MSM
has always portrayed liberals as more compassionate then
conservatives. The truth is Political philosophy does not
play a part in compassion or charity contributions. I must
admit though that when this subject comes up I think of
Bill and Hillary declaring their boxers and panties as charitable
contribution for income tax purposes. But which of the two
philosophies is more compassionate? The success of the free
market thru out the world is stunning and the failure of
Government controlled societies is obvious. So the conservative
success of glowing economies is the most companionate
because it improves the life styles of so many people.
Having said that lets turn to an enigma that puzzles me.
Why do the black voters continue to vote Democratic?
I live near Detroit and have worked in the City. Graft
and corruption run rampart. The Police force has been
under orders from FBI and courts to improve for
5 years with no improvement. Taxes and fees are exorbitant
many third world countries are better governed. No
major Malls or foot chains have stores in city. Over 50%
of population is illiterate and graduation rates are low
Still they vote Democratic by wide margins. When Newts
Contract with America took control of congress they
audited books and found millions of dollars unaccounted for.
The congressional Post Office was a source of cash hand
outs to Democratic Congressmen. The same thing has to
happen in Detroit to expose the corruption and attack the
entrenched bureaucracy and control the Unions. I don’t
see it happening soon but is this What the Liberals call
compassion? Reducing a once proud and beautiful city
to a ghetto where the murder rate is more than one per day
and crime runs rampart. This current bunch of Liberals
in the US Congress offers little hope

WHY DEMOCRATS DON'T LIKE FREE TRADE

The death of Milton Friedman highlights his economic
philosophy for which he won a Nobel prize. He was
originally a believer of John Maynard Keynes. The
Keynesian theory of economics said Government could
control inflation and employment. He became the darling
of left wing liberal Democrats for authenticating their
philosophy. Friedman disproved this theory in favor of
Free markets. The double digit inflation and unemployment
totals of the 1970's proved Friedman was right and Keynes
was wrong. Today we have additional proof that Free Market
system succeeds every Time In Iraq afer war there was no
Government and without trade barriers, import taxes and
Government regulations businesses flourished. The same is
true in Somalia with no Government for 10 years business
men have been doing well supplying services normally
provided by government and doing business with out
government controls and fees.
So now that we know free trade works, why do the Left
Wing Democrats dislike it so much? One reason is there
base is union dominated and has a protectionist mentality.
The out sourcing controversy is one example. Companies
who out source jobs are vilified daily by our MSM but
our economy is good and unemployment is very low.
The Union Democrats say all jobs created are flipping
hamburgers at MacDonald’s which is not true. One of
first items on Pelosi’s agenda is raising minimum wage
but the truth is a free market ha already raised starting
wages much higher then even proposed amount. Unions
want the higher total to use as bargaining chip in future
negotiations.
Now we can see the philosophy of the left clearer and
are not surprised that they do not spell out there programs
during election campaigns. Maybe two years of there
wacky ideals is what this country needs.

THANKSGIVING 1945 FUKUOKA, JAPAN
We landed in Japan in Oct. 1945 not knowing what
to expect. The people were starving and our ships were loaded with ammunition for the anticipated invasion. The harbors were all mined and unloading ships was a slow process. We lived on K-rations which we had in our barracks bag for two weeks. We reported to mess hall when we could
but all our poor cook could offer was coffee, what bread he could bake and watermelon rind jelly left over because nobody
ate it in Philippines. He was able to replenish our supply of
K- rations. About 2nd week of November we got a supply of
C-rations which came in a can and were better then K- Rations.
Our Cook was talented and fixed us a treat now and then.
He promised us a hot meal on Thanksgiving. We had a lot to
do so it was not a day off. All day we speculated on what our
hot meal would be When we lined up for chow we saw tables
with cloth and loafs of bread but the hot meal was C-rations in
a 55 drum of boiling water. We did not have a decent meal till
Christmas when the officers served us a turkey dinner.
I think about this now that we are having some family for
dinner and my lovely wife will cook all day Wed. And the
table tomorrow will have more food then we can possibly eat.
This is a great country and I give thanks for living and raising
a family were you can be all that you want to be

In a previous blog I remarked on inability of media to
report good economic news, such as low unemployment
total ,Increased GDP, increasing revenue that reduced deficit
and effects of tax cuts, without adding a caveat. The MSM
often would quote some left wing activist who would throw
cold water on the good news. The good economy that President
Bush has engineered gets little or no recognition from MSM.
Less then a week after the election of 11/07/06 we see a story
of a lower unemployment rate and increasing consumer
confidence and the AP reporter cannot restrain her enthusiasm
for this report attributing it all to the Democratic victory in last
election. This was pure propaganda on part of AP. To refuse to
report good news as good news for 6 years and overnight this news
is good and attributed to Democratic’s who have not even
been able to organize yet. Goebbels would have made a excellent
editor for AP. Looks like the economic reporting will be much more
positive.

SENATOR LEVIN THE OBSTUCTIONIST

I sent this as a letter to editor at the Detroit News. Senator Levin ,the obstructionist, is now Chairman of
Armed Service Committee. I remember When and Sen.
Glen, of Keating fame, so frustrated Sen. Thompson
in the Chinagate hearing that he left Congress. Since
President Bush was elected his sole objective has been
to vilify and obstruct Bush like Bonior did to Newt.
Sen. Levin has cherry picked Iraq intelligence documents
and give them to NYT and appeared on talk shows saying
Al Quada was never in Iraq. The documents were released
and prove Al Quada was in Iraq before 9/11 and Saddam
had WMD. Sen.Levin had documents reclassified. He said
there was convincing evidence that Marines at Hadith were
Guilty and they were not. He says he supports the troops but
wants to cut defense spending. His demands that we leave Iraq
in 4 months are designed for political reasons with no thought
of damage to Iraq and the fight on terror. He is a extreme
left-wing Liberal who is dangerous to this county.

I wrote this letter to the Oakland Press, our local newspaper. Bill Press is a liberal extreme leftwing talk show host who writes a syndicated column. Bill Press’s column on 11/12/06 indicates the election
was a defeat of conservative principals. The Republicans
were defeated because they were not as conservative as we
expected. They spend too much money and increased size of
Government. These are not Conservative values. Some
Democrats in red states tried to be more conservative then
there Republican opponent. When asked if they were liberal
or conservative over 60% replied conservative This election
wash a defeat for Bush who had been vilified in the MSM
and by Democratic politicians for 6 years. The Democrats
have not advanced an agenda so what exactly did we vote for.
Senator Levin, Now chairman of Armed Service Committee,
said on Meet The Press Sunday we should cut and run from
Iraq. I guess misinformed voters make poor choices. With
people like Bill Press to inform us with such an outrages
column I am not surprised at results.

TODAY WE HONOR OUR "BRAVE" VETERANS

Today is the day we sat aside to honor our Veterans.
Orators will extol their bravery. But are all Veterans
Brave? I know one who is not and he is writing this blog.
I think Tom Clancy said it best." What do you get when
you have a Navy Seal, Fighter Pilot, Army Ranger and a
Green Beret Together. The sum of all their fears."
President Bush is awarding a Medal of Honor today to a
Marine who fell on a grenade to save his comrades.
Was he brave? Unquestionably Was he afraid? Of course.
He did what he did without feeling brave but doing what
had to be done. The services teach us to follow orders
even if they put you in danger. It is not a Democratic process
in which we say its his turn or I might get hurt or lets talk
about this. The men in Picketts charge at Gettysburg, The
landings at Normandy and Iwo Jima were afraid but they
performed well and we enjoy freedom in this great country
today because they overcome their fears. I think if you
ask a Veteran today was he afraid and the truthful
answer would be " Your damn right I was "
We all have to do many things we are fearful of doing.
I member how scared I was to give a speech in School.
My speech teacher went to my coach and he stopped me
in hall and Said " There are no bashful football players"
Now what do I do. I love football and if I had to give
that damn speech to play then I had better do it. I have never
forgotten this incident and when I fear doing something
I think there are no bashful football players and forge ahead.
Today we honor those who served. We should remember
they did there job.

What are we going to say to the veterans on November 11.
Bin- Laden is dancing in his cave. The Terrorist emboldened
by their victory will brutally kill more Iraq’s and more of
our troops because they see that we will cut and run like a
whipped puppy. Senator Levin has vowed to cut Defense
spending but he supports the troops. Rep. Conyers has prepared
articles of impeachment for a great President and will submit
his reparations for slavery act again to a receptive Congress.
Rep. Randel will rescind all of Bush’s tax cuts. I guess the tax
and spend Democrats will get off to a good start.
The democratic parties agenda which is never enunciated
is support the poor with revenue from the wealthy. This is Socialism
and has never been successful and in fact been the demise
of many Governments. There margin is slim so we may survive.
We need Conservative Republicans to step forward and spell
out our agenda like newt did in his 1994 Contact with America.
As an 80 year old Veteran who lived thru the horrible Clinton
years and Roosevelt’s Nation Recovery Act so maybe there is still hope,
but not this morning.

THE UNREPORTED WAR IN FRANCE

In France Muslim youths continue to riot and burn Automobiles
and attack police. They are averaging 106 burned cars a day
and police casualties arm mounting. Nearly 3000 injured and 8 killed
so far this year. Why has the MSM remained so quite over this
violence. A Belgium Blogger, downeast.com says he doesn’t even
get this news in Belgium only 3 hours away from the center of
the disturbance. Are we seeing a forecast of what will happen if
we cut and run in Iraq? Is this why our MSM fail to report these
events? A scenario that predicts violence in America before our
elections would devastate the cut and run defeatist Democratic
party. Our Belgium Blogger gets his information from
a police blog site AuPasarant which features a report of
incidences, wounded and killed police officers.
I don’t know about you but with Democrats in charge I would
not be surprised to see violence spreading to our shores.
When I thought AL Gore would be elected I went out and bought

MSM REPORTING ON GOOD ECONOMY

Donald Lambro makes these comments on the economy in this country’
I saw a resurgent long term global economy boosting U.S. exports, continued growth in new jobs, higher corporate profits and renewed interest from investors looking to climb aboard while there was still time to grab some inexpensive stocks. The economy was growing by better than 4 percent and I saw no events on the horizon that were going to short-circuit that trend.
It is one of the ironies of the 2006 elections that the electorate remains in a gloomy mood about the economy. Rarely can one find an election in the past where voters wanted to throw out the party in power with the unemployment rate nearing a low 4.5 percent, the economy growing by better than 3 percent, and worker retirement stock portfolios rising by near double-digit percentages.
The one reason this economy is not recognized as being good if not great is the MSM. A good example is a report by AP reporter Tim Paradis. Reporting on
the Dow breaking 12,000 " The Dow goes up but then retreats as some expert say
sanier investors prevail" . Here we hit a milestone in economic growth but he
downgrades good news by saying Sanier investors prevail. Everyone knows
some investors put sell orders if Dow reaches a set figure so a prominent
milestone like 12,000 would trigger some sell orders not a reaction by sanier investors. So very good news is down graded not praised. People read
headlines by AP and do not realize what a great economy President Bush has
has orchestrated We need an informed electorate but were are they going
to get good information.

WHY I AM OPTIMISTIC ON WORLDS FUTURE

I can see a bright future for our world even if Democrats
win control of House It will be a short term loss and we
will recover. There Socialist policies are failing all over the
world while Capitalist economies are flourishing.
I can take a long term view of our future because I can see
how far we have come. In Oct. 1944 I was an 18 year old
infantry man in 32nd Division landing in Sasebo, Kyushu,
Japan. We had been told how evil these yellow men were
and we did not know what to expect. We followed the
invasion plan "Olympia" and landed like it was an invasion.
Our convoy had been struck by the " Devine Wind" Typhon
but we survived. The Japanese were more afraid of us
because they had been taught for years how barbaric we were.
The first thing we noticed was we were more yellow then they
were. Atribine pills to protect against Malaria affect liver and
turn skin yellow. There were no young girls on the street as
they were afraid we would rape them all. The country was a mess
Police and fire trucks were running on wood burners. The people
were starving. Our invasion fleet was loaded with ammunition
not food. We ate K and C rations for weeks. The Japanese
People are very polite and take being clean like a religion.
They were however a society that still was in a medieval
caste system. The jacket you wore or the suit or uniform
indicated your caste. Women walked behind men and were
2nd class citizens. Now Japan is a world leader employing
a capitalistic economy and women have equal rights.
It did not happen in 5 years or 10 years but it happened.
I see in Iraq the beginning of the same type of change.
What is also most encouraging in India, China, Dubia
and other allowing the Capitalist system to expand the
World Economy. The Big Pharaoh noted in his blog
today what has happened since war in Japan.

Mr. Weill retired and wrote a book. This self made Billionaire
started as a runner on Wall Street, He founded Sherman Lehman
and retired as Chairman of Citigroup. When asked if he would
get into finance today he said " I think the outlook for the finance
industry is better now than at any time in last 100 years. The US model
of capitalism is being copied all over the world. Communist countries
have gone capitalist, its an incredible opportunity". This man made his
money selling stocks. He did not take anything from the poor but rather
created wealth for companies and stockholders by furnishing the Capital
to expand and grow. A Bank in Indonesia was awarded a Nobel Prize
for making micro loans to those who wanted capital to grow. I think we are entering a whole new world and the capitalist system that has made our
country so great is being copied. A billionaire in India is building whole towns
and starting Wal-Mart type stores supplied by Indians thru out his country.
People want to improve there lot in life but do not want to depend on
Government to subside . Unfortunately the left wing Democrats in our
country still think corporations are evil and out to steal from the poor.
They are supported by unions which are socialist by nature, lawyers
who attack business and the poor which they enlist with fear tactics..
Mr Weill is now a philanthropist and just Donated 5 million to the U of M.
He sees a Bright future and so do I. At 80 I may not live to see it but
my grand kids and great grand kids will.

A DEMOCRATIC ELECTION IN YEMAN

A democratic election was held in Yemen last month. The
incumbent President won with 74% of the votes. 5 people
were on the ballot and each was allowed equal air time on
TV and radio. Election was watched by outside observers
and appeared to be a free election. That the incumbent won
by 74% instead of 97 to 99 % usually recorded in this type
of election is amazing. The Middle East is slowly changing
and with Dubia fast becoming a world power we are seeing the
success of President Bush’s policy. Such momentous changes
take time. Like a ball rolling downhill it slowly picks up speed.
Democracy in Middle East will come and with it a vibrant
economy. We are winning despite MSM and our left wing
detractors.

Detroit Tigers is due too The Hillary Curse. They have not

FOOTBAL INFO BABES/TALKING HEADES

My regular readers know how much I love football
and now that I can not play anymore I watch the TV
games. The good looking info babes detract from the
flow of the game. They are same on all networks. They
must have taken elocution lessons from same teacher.
They sound like it’s story time for 5 year olds at local
library. The half time talking heads detract from the
pageantry that is so much a part of football. I really miss
the halftime shows put on by such great marching bands.
I would love to see the Michigan do an about face and
march up field playing the Victors. I am sure alumni all
across the country would like to see their band perform.
The supposed insight the talking heads give could be heard
in any sports bar in the country. If networks would like to
improve there ratings they should get rid of talking heads
and info babes and let us enjoy the game as if we were
sitting in stadium. GO BLUE

I will turn 80 in Janurary so I will not be around to see what
I predict will be a glorious future fo this World of ours. I
Remember when a Congressman wanted to close the patent
Office because everything had been invented. I can
remember the cries of the Buggywhip companies forced out
of business with no demand for there product. Stop and think
what it will be like for a child born today iv fifty years.
Technologic advances beyond our comprehension. Will the
US be the only Super Power? I don’t think so. The world is
in a state of transition with India, China, Japan and others
finding the entrepreneurial spirt of capitalism building a better
world. Terrorism will die as the Anarchist did and I think
the battle in Iraq will change the Middle East in amazing ways.
Look at what is happening in Dubai which I predict will
become the Financial capital of the world. I think warfare
as we know it will cease to exist as we all become buyers and
sellers in the global economy I guess this should have been
a New Years post But the one reservation I have for the future
is the strength of the left wing in the US if they continue to lead
us down " The Road to Serfdom" as Hayek predicted then we
will be left behind in a world my Great Grandchildren will live in.
This election in November might portray our future. I hope for
the best but our academics and media have taken the wrong
turn and I am fearful The Us will fall behind in a fast changing

and I read thic column by Tom Teepen That made me so mad
I left football game to write letter to editor at Oakland Press
our lacal Paper. They have a new editor and he added Ann
Coulter’ column and the linerals have been sqeeking like
drowned rats demanding he pull her column. They print
Maureen Dowd, E.J. Dionne and Tom weekly so alittle
breath of fresh air is welcome.

If you are going to print the vitriolic rants of Tom Teepen don’t
Drop Ann Coulter. Teepens column on editorial page 10/02/2006
was fill of misrepresentation and Left wing wish list. The intelligence
report he so gleefully reports on was selectively released by NYT
to reflect badly on Bush The president released the whole report
to prevent columns such as this to be released. The intelligence
report should have remained classified as the release helped our
enemy. His last sentence shows how convoluted and slanted his whole
column was. He says " Bush now concedes that Iraq was not
responsible for 9/11" Bush never said Iraq was responsible for
9/11 and his reasons for going to war with Iraq were many. The
release of Iraq intelligence reports prove Bush was right on all
counts. The printing of such extreme left wing propaganda gives
aid and comfort to our enemies, the Terrorist and the Democrats.

FOOTBALL PLAYER STOMPS FACE

The story of a football player stomping the face of an
opponent bought back some fond memories. I love
playing football and at 5'6" and 155 pounds I did not
make the sophomore team but I did make the Junior
varsity and became starting guard. Our big game was
against Corunna. Our coach had been fired by Corunna
the year before and really wanted to win this game.
Corunna was bigger faster and older than we were
but late in fourth quarter we had a 14 to 13 point lead.
Corunna was inside our 15 yard line but our tackle and
I ran a little stunt and I made three tackles for losses.
On the last tackle I rocked back on my knees and laughed
at their running back and he kicked me in the face. The resulting
15 yard penalty backed them out of field goal range and
we won the game. Our helmets were made of leather and
we did not have face mask. Our tackle wiped blood off my
face so I could finish game. Our Coach came into locker
room and said "Great Game Alexander" I was so shocked
I could just mutter "Thank you Coach." I had 7 neat little round
marks on my face. I played a sand lot football game that
Sunday and everybody came to see the kid with cleat marks.
on his face. School was the same as I had my 15 minutes
of fame. I did not make the Varsity but coach kept me on the
team and I played football every night with the Varsity running
opponents plays and played in sand lot games on weekends

A recent poll by Reuters shows 60% of Iraq’s believe
it is OK to fire on American occupiers Mohammed at
iraqthemodel.com was asked to comment. The following
is a quote from his reply.
The magnitude of pressure and misinformation the people here are subject to from the media is a factor that cannot be ignored. Since April 2003 and till now virtually all the media kept describing the US presence as a force of occupation even when the legal status of the forces ceased to be so long time ago.For over three years, the media kept focusing on the mistakes and shortcomings of the US military and US administration in what I can only describe as force-feeding hatred to the Iraqi people.
Mohammad Thinks that if 40% of Iraqi’s have not caved in to this
constant media onslaught then we must be doing something right.

Actually if the poll had been taken in the UK or US would the results
have been much deferent. The frantic cries of the left blaming Bush
for everything and the vitriolic nature of MSM especially the NYT
has to have some affect on how we view this War. It is hard to
fight a war against Terrorist with the support of only half of the
people. The negative press in Iraq is fueled by politicians and
militants seeking to gain power from a fledgling Government.
The negative press in the US is an attempt to gain power lost by
the left wing Democrat Socialist. The MSM must believe a Socialist
Government is superior to the Capitalist system that has made our
country great. Can you name one socialist society that has been
successful. Marx and Lenin have said we will not need to go to
war with Capitalist nations. We will infiltrate the academic world
and then the media. It appears they were right. They have 90%
of both. President Bush has to fight two enemies the terrorist and the
left wing socialist. I don’t know which is worse. They both want to
destroy our great Country.

AL-TAQIYYA ARABIC FOR LICENSE TO LIE

, I have mentioned before the difficulty of translating Arabic
into English. One word in Arabic will have a very detailed
meaning, often referencing the Quran or Arabic history.
Putting this into one or two English words is not really
possible. The Arabic word al-taqiyya is a good example.
It means Concealing or disguising one’s beliefs, convictions.
Ideas, feelings, opinions and/or strategies ata time of imminent
danger, whether now or later in time, to save oneself from
physical or mental injury.
Al-taqiryya is really a license to lie. How can one or two
English words define such a term.. A more detailed meaning
also references the Quran 3.28 and 16.196. If a Arabic
speaker uses the word al-taqiryya it would take an Arabic
scholar to define its meaning.
One thing is clear, al-Taqiyya is permission from your
religion to lie under certain conditions. How is it possible
to believe any thing Ahmaginejad’s says. Negotiating with
him and Hezboola is a waste of time. They can invoke
al-Taqiyya with no fear of deserting there moral principles.

still insist Marines were guilty at Haditha and Senator
levin insist there is over whelming proof of the Marines

"We vectored the (Marine) squad and they got shot up. I watched the whole thing happen as they got shot up ... And now I'm kicking myself in the ass because we didn't drop the bomb and we didn't lead with appropriate force because we didn't have positive identification." ...
Carrasco said after he learned of the civilian casualties he reported them to a superior. There were U.S. troops and insurgent troops and Iraqi troops, he said, "And there was civilians caught in the middle.'"
"I said, 'I do not know if they were killed by the (bomb) blast, how many got killed by the (bomb) blast. I do not know how many were killed in the cross-fire, but it is fair to assume that this has been a bad day if there is dead civilians in the battle space.'" ...
Funny that this bit of information has never been mentioned by the media before before.

speech at the UN, I read it in detail. The full text.
The Arab language is hard to interpret to western
language. So I think you should substitute freedom
when he uses word justice. He believes the world
should be under Muslim rule. So when he quotes the
Quran and makes references to peace , tranquility,
harmony and justice he means under Muslim rule.
Following are some quotes from his speech
Divine revelation teaches us that" the almighty
changes the fate of no people unless they themselves
show a will for change ( holy Quran 13.11)
Justice recognizes the right of every one to tranquility
peace and a dignified life. Justice rejects intimidation
and double standards. As the eminent Daughter of the
Prophet of Islam has said " justice brings tranquility and
harmony to our life. Today the world is waiting for the
establishment of such justice.
Ahmadinejad is saying we will have these things when
Muslim rule the world.
He believes the 12th Grandson of the prophet Mohammad,
Mehdi, will return during a time of great turmoil and restore
the world to Muslim rule. And he must create the turmoil to
hasten his return.
Now read the prayer he closes his speech with.
"O mighty Lord, I pray to you to hasten the emergence of
your last repository, the promised one, that perfect and pure
human being, the one that will fill this world with justice and
peace.
He is telling the world that we must live under Muslim rule
in this cleverly worded speech. He is an egomaniac like
Hitler was and a Danger we must recognize. I suggest you read

I don’t know which is worse ,The continued attempt
to prove President Bush lied or the failure to support
his request to interrogate Terrorist. The Senate intelligence
report conclusion was ridiculous in the face of a
preponderant amount of evidence that clearly and conclusively
proves Al Queda was in Iraq prior to 9/11. Trying to limit
wire tapping of the enemy , prevent interrogation of terrorist
and actively work for the freedom of those who wish is to
kill us seems like carrying politics too far.

to his principals. History looks favorably on Abe. Remember

I got an email from Sen. Levin. If you have read my post you
know how much I detest this man. My emails to him have always
been answered with a standard press release telling what a great
job he is doing. This latest email was no exception. He address it
to my concerns. He quotes the Senate Intelligence Committee,
What an oxymoron, as saying there is no evidence that Al Qaeda
was in Iraq prior to 9/11. The Senator has been parroting this
claim in front of every microphone he can find. He is accusing
the administration of lying as he has been doing for years.
I have read some of the documents released by the intellengence;;igence
committee that were recovered in Iraq and are now being interpreted.
The preponderance of the evidence clearly shows activity by
Al Queda and other terrorist groups in Iraq as early as 1985.
How anybody could read these documents and then shout to
the world that Al Queda was not in Iraq prior to 9/11 is a mystery
to me and a true indication of character of shouter.

intelligence documents released and has written a 9 page

FEEL THE ANGUISH OF TERRORISM
This picture really hit me hard. Maybe because the
child reminds me of my Grandson. Also it portrays
vividly the anguish of the innocent victims of
terrorism. We should see this picture in our mind eye
every time we read statistics on number of people
killed and wounded daily by the depraved barbarity
of the terrorists. We cannot defeat these evil ones until
the whole world unites as one to defeat such evil.
I am a veteran and bloodshed and unbearable anguish
is not new to me but I still suffer the little child’s pain.
Unfortunately in this great country we can only muster
about 40% of people how want to defeat terrorism.
There are those who say we must pull back our troops
and negotiate with these nice people who want to kill us/
We can not win the war on terrorism with out a united
front in this country and in the world. Anything less only
encourages and emboldens the evil ones to believe they
are winning. Do you want to be governed by people
who cause such anguish and see nothing wrong with killing
50 children at a day care center?.

Wednesday 8/06/2006. He decries the lack of support
from rest of world for the war on terror. He makes the
good argument that the world must unite to fight this
menace. I would hope you would take a minute and read

I did not think he refereed to the opposition to war in Iraq
in the US.

The war on terror has only about a 40% support of people in the US,
We have an opposition party allied with MSM that daily criticize the
Iraq war and wants the US to pull out of Iraq now.They see this a way to regain power. there shortsighted view was apparentduring Clinton years. for Government " was very interesting and I hope you take time
to read it.
Business men in Somali are doing well without a predatory
Government. There has not been a central government since
1991. Without taxes, import export fees, regulations and
license’s business’s are thriving. But you say how can this be
possible in a chaotic region. Banking is done in Dubia through
an excellent telecommunications system built by business men.
Legal contracts are handled by a system called hawala which
is simply a hand shake agreement on money transfer. Over
a billion dollars was transferred last year. One business man is
completing a plant in Thailand and thinking about building
in China .Peter Lesson in a paper called " Better off Stateless"
writes Somali’s are better off under anarchy then under
a predatory government which limited the entrepreneurship
of the Somali people. Property rights are ruled by a system of trust
A business mans integrity is an important asset
Is this not an interesting concept for Economic professors..
No governing body and the economy thrives. I don’t know
how well the people are doing but somebody is buying
what the business’s are selling.
Would we be better off with less government, lower taxes and
reduced regulations? We now have a working model for
economist to study. How will the Liberals who favor more
government respond? I bet the spin machine is working overtime.

WAR ON POVERTY ??
After all these years of the War on poverty, with no
exit Strategy, we finally see a reduction in the number
of people living in poverty. Are we finally winning a
war that has cost us billions in government programs.
or has a Republican President economic policy of
reducing taxes out flanked all the do good programs
and is reducing the amount of people living in
poverty. The AP story covers this fact in there story
in there usual doom and gloom reporting on good news.
Rep. Rangel says its like putting lipstick on a pig, I don’t
see how the Bush administration can spin this. The
census report got very little coverage in MSM as you
would expect. But a strong economy growing by
3 to 5 percent every quarter and low unemployment rates
are winning a war the Liberal Democrats could not.
Disasters like Katrina and the cost of a very necessary
Iraq War have only slowed Growth not reduced it
as many on left have been predicting. It looks like Bush
has an exit strategy for War on Poverty.

WE ARE WINNING IN IRAQ
Mohammad at Iraqthemodel has returned from a one week
trip to Egypt. It was sponsored by the Cato institute and others.
He had a good time and met many Mid-Eastern Bloggers
including The big Pharaoh. He made this comment upon
his return that I thought was significant. He said I am not afraid
of my Government. The other bloggers outside of Iraq all
had problems with Security Police. Zeyad in Jordan now
reports clashes with them daily. There are no Security Police
in Iraq now but before the occupation they were feared by all.
The violence in Iraq is appalling but steps are being taken to gain
control of country. There are many vexing problems and it will
take time to resolve them. I thing Mohammad’s remarks show
that we are winning. A free and phosphorous Iraq in the middle of the
Mid-East will create a Mecca for freedom and the mullahs know
it. The eventual victory will not be easy but we are winning.
I fear the naysayer of the left could turn a victory into a defeat
and plunge us back into the middle ages.

90% of the time but have a flourishing underground
economy that ignores the Government completely.
Ladies go to affluent suburbs and by clothes by bag full

on front lawn. You want something done and you let the
street know and somebody will show up to do the work.
Weekly BBQ’s sell slab of ribs some cole slaw and a can
of beer for 4 or 5 dollars. The numbers racket is played
by all. Unfortunately it includes drugs prostitution
gambling and after hours clubs,
Why would people who vote liberal run a supply and
demand economy that ignores "The Man" ? 30 or more years
of one party rule in Detroit started when Mayor Young
told the Honkies "Hit 8 mile" the recognized border of Detroit,
the city has a bloated bureaucracy ruled by powerful unions
and will destroy itself. The illiteracy rate is over 50 % and they
continue to vote Democrat and put people like Conyers and
Kilparick in congress to rule our country year after year.
Some black leaders are starting to recognize the damage
being done and those like Bill Crosby are being demonized.
Until we get some more blacks to reverse the one party
rule of our inner cities I don’t see a solution

President bush landed on the Aircraf1 Carrier Lincoln
on may third 2003. A huge sign on deck read Mission
Accomplished. The sign referred to the Carriers Mission
in the Iraq War and their successful return home. President
Bush landed on deck of Carrier on a Jet and used the
occasion for a photo op that must make Clinton green with
envy. The MSMM.M. and the Democratic spin machine has
tried to say that Bush said Iraq war was over. This is in line
with the "Bush Lied" Mantra promoted so widely by the
Bushaters. When faced with the incontestable facts that
Bush has not lied the spin machine just continue to spin.
Hardly anyone remembers the original meaning of the Mission
Accomplice sign. Sen. Mcain used in it a speech this week
incorrectly but we should not be surprised a supposed
Republican would do such a thing.

Every tine I hear a politician say " This country is headed
in wrong direction" I think what direction is correct.
Do we want to head done the road to serfdom as F, Heyk
suggested we may be heading or is the vision of
Ronald Regan supply side economics correct. There
can not be a middle road to take. Suppl side economics
will bog down supporting a bulging Government and the road
to serfdom taken by the liberals has never been successful.
Socialist or communist governments have all failed while thosewho embrace supply side economics are succeeding.
We are the richest most powerful Government in world
because we have let the common man recognize and expand
his ability and expand our economy. Being poor in this
county would be rich in most countries of world. Don’t you
have to ask yourself why that is? It is because supply side
economics continues to expand and a rising tide lifts all boats.
The next time you hear the lament "This country is headed in
wrong direction" Think what is the right direction.

The recent thwarting of the terrorist plot to blow up more
airplanes becomes a propaganda victory for the terrorist
not our intelligent services.
In World War II Hitler and Tojo were portrayed as idiots
and fools by cartoonist and our leaders were sympathetically
interviewed. Today Mike Wallace interviews Ahmadinejad
to a huge TV audience and Washington Post interviews
Nasrallah and interview is reprinted in local papers. Meanwhile
our President is depicted as a childish incompetent or
an idiot in political cartoons daily. Doonsbary even
portrays him as a white feather sign of a coward. It is hard to
win a war against terror and your own MSM. Tony Snow
was on the Sean Hannraty radio show and could not hide
his frustration. He kept saying " You got it all Wrong".
I think Tony is right on but how do you reverse this
win is a lost and lost is a win reporting.
The desire to defeat Bush and turn this country back toward
Liberalism seems to overwhelm our MSM. I would have
thought Hillary’s plan yo overhaul health care would
have clearly defined Liberalism for all. Now we find out
the average bureaucrat makes $ 106,579 a year including
benefits. Think what the cost of letting government
control health care would escalate to.
President Bush is fighting three wars, The terrorist, the MSM

GETTING IT OFF YOUR CHEST
Aug 15 was V-J day. In 1945 I had just landed in Philippines
and joined 32nd Red Arrow Division In Oct 1945 we landed
at Sasebo, Kyushu. Japan. My squad moved from Sasebo to
Fukuoka about 90 miles north of Nagasaki. Our mission
was to occupy the Navel Head Quarters and convert it to the
Division Post Office. We were assigned Japanese to do the work.
One of our Sgt.’ s, Roades nicknamed Dusty, Had lost his entire
Squad when they were overrun by a Japanese counterattack on
the Villa Verda Trail in Northern Luzon. The loss really upset
him and he was having trouble coping.
We were warned repeatedly about causing a incident because of area
our Division was responsible for was huge.
On Second day we were their a limousine pulls up with an interpreter
and 2 Japanese Navel Officers. To our surprise Dusty said " let me
handle this" He stopped the Officers and unleashed a tirade which
shocked us and upset our Japanese workers. After about 5 minutes
of this abuse the officers left.
Dusty returned to us with a stern look on his face. He looked at each of
us, Smiled, and said " My god you don’t know how good that felt"
We thought we were in trouble but did not hear anything about it.
Dusty was a changed man and we rejoiced in his recovery.

I sell used books on alibris.com and being an avid reader
I sample my stock. A book , Selected American Speeches,
Had a speech by Theodore Roosevelt That I Enjoyed.
He Quoted from Bunyan’s Pilgrims Progress about the man
with the muck rake who was offered a celestial crown for
his rake but would not look up and continued to rake the muck.
I thought this sounded like the Bushhaters of today who
continue to rake the muck around Bush but can not look up
to accept the celestial crown and see the Good job our
President is doing. The Economy continues to improve
in spite of war and disasters. The Bush lied refrain has
been reputed and as more Iraq intelligence documents
are interpreted it becomes obvious how right he was. He said it
would be a long war against Terrorist and it is and we are
winning. Criticism of Iraq War ignores the stunning defeat
of the Iraq Army which has changed manuals of war in all
military colleges. Sen. Ted Kennedy made my point
when he said it was Bush’s fault that terrorist plots in UK
India, Italy and Philippines were uncovered.
President Bush is good compassionate man who I am so glad
is charge during these turbulent times.

Robin Wright of Washington Post on Nasrallah.
It seemed to ask question " Why are we at war with
this nice Man" It infuriated me and I wrote following
letter to editor which was published Wed.8/09/06.

World opinion strongly condemns Israel for the children killed
in Qana , Lebanon. The Arab press shows revolting pictures
of dead children and Arab TV repeats pictures all day long
to incite public and world opinion against Israel. Israel released
pictures showing rockets being launched from area attacked
but there was no world opinion condemning Hezbolla. The
terrorist score a propaganda victory by using civilians
as shields. The same thing happened in Haditha where Marines
are now being charged with killing " innocent civilians".
Our MSM fell into this trap led by Rep. John Murtha D.

I have been puzzled by fanatic behavior of th Terrorist.
What drives suicide bombers to kill innocent children.
What do they hope to gain? An article in americanthinker.com

The Savior Man of White Islam is the 12th grandson of the
prophet Mohammed goes by the name of Man Mehdi.
This is why Sadr calls his militia the Mehdi Army.
Iran’s Mullahs , Ahmadinejad, Nasrallah and Sadr all
believe The world is presently at its most wicked. It is beyond
human help. It requires nudge to implode and prepare for
the Devine Ruler, The Saheh-al-Zaman ( The Mehdi, the Lord
of the ages) to come and set it right. It is the sacred duty of
every Moslem to do all he can to hasten the death of the old
world and the birth of global Islam, Ummah.
Mehdi will return when a period of unprecedented and destruction
prevail. The Mullahs are upset with the Mehdi for not returning
and hope to makes conditions so bad that he will have to return.
A prayer recited daily in mosques has been " o, Saheb-al Zaman
hasten your coming" and even appears on bumper stickers.
Mohammed reports unusual white religious banners appearing
when Hezbolla attacked in Lebanon. They read " by renouncing
sin for the sake of after life, We become the best soldiers to our
leader and savior the Mehdi" the banners were in Sadr city and
at The Minister of Interior offices..
As you can see it is not necessary for them to win a western style
victory. Their goal is to cause enough chaos and turmoil until
the Mehdi Returns and creates a Muslim world. Negotiating
with them is futile. They have to be defeated by the non- Muslim
world which thinks a cease fire will allow a peaceful solution.

The Democrats felt it neccessary to respond to the
speech by the leader of a soverign nation. An
unbelievable act an affront to Iraq. Little Chuckie
Schumer and his party wanted PM Maliki to condemn
Hezbollah and support Israel. It would have been political
suicide for him to do so. He is trying to unify a country
that has many who have been taught to hate Israel for last
25 years. If He had been a puppet of the US he could
have condemned Hezbollah and supported Israel but he is
not. The Democrats want to make political hay and embarrass
President Bush but there ploy will backfire on them.
Like Kerry saying this would never happen if I was
President then he flip flops and says we must destroy
Hezbollah. What an Idiot.
There are signs in Iraq that neighborhoods are meeting
including tribal Sheiks and trying to end violence.
There was a report of one neighborhood group defeating
a death squad incursion into there area.
This is not the time to try to embarr the Iraq PM Maliki.
In another note A-Zawahri has clearly defined our enemy
and his goals in a speech on Al- Jazeera TV calling
for a Moslem world from Spain to Iraq.

We are at war with Islamic Jihadists Yet more then half
of population in the US denies the obvious. Like they
say denial is a river in Egypt. It is a World War as Newt
Gengrich so apply says. Our enemy goes by many names.
Hizbullah, Hamas, Al- Quada, Taliban and other such as
the Sadr Militia in Iraq. Israel is fighting this war today
after learning appeasement never works. They pulled
out of Southern Lebanon to allow a Democratically
elected Government to succeed. Syria pulled out and sent
Hizbulla in supported by Iran. Syria assassinates a popular
Prime Minister to weaken government. Somalia is now
in control of Islamic Jihadists who are in process of
establishing a strict Muslim Government like the
Taliban did in Afghanistan. When Al-Quada occupy an
Area their fist act is to enforce a strict Muslim policy.

If we do not know who are enemy is and deny that he
wants to destroy our way of life is a victory for them.
My suggestion fo some enterprising entrepreneur is to
by up some cotton sheets and start making Hijab’s and
Jalalib. We should be assisting Israel and facing down

The Democrats are struggling to announce a New
policy that will allow them to regain control of
Congress. One proposal had them cut deficit by 13%
and raise spending by 13%. Apparently they believe
we are illiterate in math because most see this as
a zero proposal that will allow them to spend more.
Pelosi puts repealing Bush’s tax cuts at top of list.
We see now that the "New" plan is Tax and Spend.
Hmmm, I thought that was the old plan?
The Republicans have succeeded in extracting more
tax revenue from the evil rich by cutting the tax rate
and making them earn more which we confiscate as
increased tax revenue, I always thought it was the
Democrats who wanted to soak the rich. The top
50% of income earners pay 96.54% of the taxes
while the bottom 50% pay 3.46%. The Democrats
want to increase taxes on rich to feed the poor.

These two quotes from 2004 by liberals show just how wrong they are and if we
were to follow there economic policies where we would be today. The success
President Bush’s tax cuts and the economic boom they ignited is proof that
our President was right again. How a President with such a record could
have a low approval rating is astounding, The Economy has been the untold
story by the MSM with every positive story accompanied by a disclaimer.
Since June 2003 the economy has expanded by 20 %. And tax revenue collections have been surging at double digit rates. Constantly exceeding forecast.
One has to wonder why anyone would want elect a Liberal Democrat who
policies mean more government programs and more taxes. The lack of Fair and accurate reporting might explain why this is possible. A lack of basic economic
studies in High School might explain some of this. Communism and left leaning
Governments depend on an economy that is failing and the population is living
in poverty. That does not explain 45% support in this country for Democrats.
The Democratic base is Trail Lawyers, Unions and a deluded black population.
A continued booming Economy will win over this base.
President Bush is trying belatedly to get a control on spending which will accelerate Economic growth

EVIDENCE OF SUCCESS IN IRAQ

Mohammad and Omar of iraqthemodel.com have analyzed comments
on a BBC Arabic site discussing Israelis incursion into Gaza for a
kidnaped 19 year old soldier. While the Arabs outside of Iraq
condemned the Israelis Those in Iraq defended the Much hated
Jooozs. This would never have happened before with Saddam
in power. Why the change in public opinion? I believe it is
because the Iraq people are now Free and can listen to Media
from around the world. They do not have to listen to a biased
state run Media and have the Freedom to read and watch what
they choose. The results of the BBC discussion on Israel
surprised Omar and Mohammed and I was shocked. The
opinion of the Iraq’s was intelligent, not biased and essentiality
told the Palestines to forsake their terrorist ways and rebuild
their country. I would have to assume they were against the
Terrorist in their own country and wanted the elected
government to succeed. A welcome change in public attitude
that bodes well for the future of Iraq and our policies.
I view this turn of events as a positive sign of an eventual
free and prosperous Democratic Iraq.

MADELINE ALBRIGHT BLAMES BUSH

Hearing former Sect. Albright brag about her handling of North Korea
and blaming the two Bush’s for current crisis sounds like Neville
Chamberlin in Munich in 1938. In 1994 Clinton and Albright got Kim Jong
to freeze nuclear programs for only 5 billion in fuel and two nuclear
reactors in what was heralded as a diplomatic victory. So why is Bush
to blame for there failures.
The blaming of others for your failures reminds me of an incident while I
was taking my Army basic training. There was a bully from Brooklyn in
our unit who tried to intimidate everyone. .When I clashed with him the
Sargent made us put on boxing gloves in company street after dinner.
A common method of settling disputes. He was bigger but I was better
boxer and I bloodied his nose. We had a good crowd and they laughed at
him. We went on a bivouac in foot hills of Ozark Mountains in which we
camped out in pup tents and practiced war maneuver. One night some guys
found a large snake, about 4 foot long, and put it the bullies tent. The
snake wrapped around his leg for warmth. Being from Brooklyn he was
terrified of snakes. He woke up about 5:00 AM started screaming and
grabbed his rifle and swung at the snake. Unfortunately he broke his leg.
At assembly that morning the Sargent asked those responsible to step
formation. But no one did. The Sargent Said "Alexander, ME, two days KP
and latrine duty. The two guys responsible came too me and offered to
confess but I said I was sorry I did not think of it. I got a lot of free beer
at PX when we got back to Barracks.
I think of this when I hear the Bush-haters blame bush for the sun rising.
Like Madeline Albright those blaming Bush the loudest are only covering
for their mistakes.

There are those, including my Lebanese Daughter-in-law, who
think not but an Iraq blogger says it best
"I was not living before the 9th of April and now I am, so let me speak!"
Today we celebrate our freedom and the world has seldom seen
such a collection of people. My ancestor came in chains from a English
prison, one was a Norman. My wife is French with some Ottawa
Indian. The colonies were that diverse with the Tories the most
successful. Yet we gathered the support of little over half the population
and challenged the powerful Army in the world supplemented by
mercenaries and won when nobody thought it was possible.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness..
.
230 years later there is still a divide in this Country about a free market
economy which has made us so powerful or a progressive Government
controlled economy which wants to redistribute the wealth.
We still survive as a Democracy and I believe Iraq will also.

The diverse population of Iraq can succeed and light the fire of Democracy
through out the Middle East. As we celebrate our Freedom let us hope
our brave soldiers can assist the Iraq’s to celebrate the 9th of April as we

NYT RETALIATES AGAINST CHENEY, RUMSFELD
The New York Times uses it’s travel Section as a blatant
retaliation against VP Cheney and Sect. Rumsfeld in it’s
June 30 th edition. After sharp criticism from the administration
and an angry President Bush for exposing a highly effective
program to track down Terrorist financial transaction. Many
including myself believe this expose was traitor by both
the NYT and the person who leaked this information.
The NYT had been approached by administration officials
who urged them not to publish this story. In retaliation
for the sharp criticism the NYT printed huge color photo’s
of the summer homes of Cheney and Rumsfeld. They identified
the small Maryland town, showed driveways and located security
cameras. Now the Bush haters, cranks, radicals and al -Qaida
even know the route they normally take to get to there summer
homes. They did not print a target on the photo’s but the intent
was clear.
David Horowitz says "There is a war going on in this country.

I have taken a new interest in baseball now that the Tigers are
winning.. I can remember my Dad taking me to Tiger stadium
to watch charley Geringer play. I never believed a man could play
that well. Today there is school with a ball field in back that is empty
all summer long. That would never happen when I was growing up.
Their was always a pick up game going on with kids of all ages
playing . You showed up and " Hollered what side am I on"
and team with fewest players would answer. We seldom kept score
we just played for the pure joy of playing. Between innings we left
our gloves in the field because not everybody could afford a glove.
Nobody ee lost a glove. The school left bats and balls out and they
were always there we played till dark and went home to listen to
the Flint arrows on our radio when we could get it working. The
Arrows signed a catcher for $50,000 and he was called Frank Pig
house because he took up all the signing money. My folks got mea real good glove and I was so excited I cried. It was signed by
Claude Passour and I had no Ideal who he was. I went through
all box scores I could find and found out he pitched for Chicago
Cubs so when anybody asked I could say he was my favorite pitcher.
Things have changed now Moms run kids around to organized games
and my school yard sets empty all summer. I feel sorry for kids who
watch TV or play TV games instead of playing the neighborhood
game every night.

Senator Levin said on Fox News Sunday that there is
overwhelming evidence that the Marines massacre
innocent civilians. I emailed my disgust at this vicious
comment at once. The evidence shows the Marines were
in a fire fight initiated by Terrorist after igniting a IED
from a near by house. The action was observed by a
drone spy plane which taped the incident. The evidence
is clearly in favor of the Marines acting under proper
rules of engagement. It turns out Time Magazine had
bad sources but ran with story anyway.

SEN. FEINSTEIN AND SEAT BELTS

Sen Feinstein wants to legislate higher gas millage
and says the technology is there why not use it.
Who wants to buy a car designed for low mileage.
She also said " The automotive companies were
again seat belts. If you can believe it."
I can believe it. I was a Materials Manager in a automotive
assembly plant at the time. We were not against seat
belts but against the stupid laws requirements.
To insure safety each seat belt had to have a weekly run
number to tell when it was manufactured. Every seat belt
in the vehicle had to have same run number. Sounds
simple but if you damage one seat belt you had to scrap
all seat belts in vehicle. Some cars took more seat belts than
others like a nine passenger station wagon. This prevented you
from having full sets to use on other cars. You could not buy
replacement belts you had to buy complete run numbers.
After two months I had a truck full of scrap seat belts and running
out of seat belts for production as our supplier could
not build them fast enough. We had to get another supplier
but now we could not mix suppliers in a vehicle.
We had our legal department apply for relief but were told
" What’s the matter can’t you build safe cars." WE had to change
assembly sequence so they were all assembled in one
location and I had to assign a man full time to try and make
since out of such inanities.
When I started to fill up a land fill with seat belts I was told
each belt had to be damaged. Now I Got a man spending all day
destroying good seat belts and land fill operator wants more money.
We were never against seat belts only such outlandish regulations
that cost millions of dollars.
Years later I was Materials Manager for a steel plant and found
gondolas full of "d-rings" a part used to hold seat belts to floor.
Rejected by customer who could not reconcile run dares.
I got with sales and we sold them to a parachute company to
pull rip cord with.

SUMMER SOLSTICE AT CHICHEN-ITZA

The summer solstice is the first day of summer and in
Mexico a national holiday. Admission to all parks is free
and at Chichen-Itza Mayans crowd the plaza at the El Castillo
pyramid. To watch the shadow of Kukulcan, The feathered
serpent, rise from the underworld to top of El Castillo.
The pyramid is so architecturally perfect with 365 steps to top
and so accurately aligned by Mayans in about 850AD
that the shadows rice to top on summer solstice and descent
at winter solstice. A simply remarkable achievement.

Affirmative action was designed to help those who have
been discriminated against in past move to head of line
for jobs and Education opportunities.
The problem is who has not been discriminated against?
My forebears came in chains in a prison ship from England.
Two generations of his siblings work as indentured servants
in Tanning factories. It took 7 generations to move my family
from poverty to a middle class existence.
What about the Irish who were forced to leave their homeland

The MSM published a picture of a Palestine girl looking
for her Father Killed while picnicking on a Gaza beach.
Israel was blamed but further inspection seems to prove
otherwise. It appears that Hamas may have set bomb to

In Haditha it now appears that the Time story was all
wrong and Marines attacked houses firing at them
even though houses were occupied by many civilians.
It appears that this was a planned PR story and Time fell

envisioning a MI Lai type story. In cold blood they accuse
our marines of shooting unarmed civilians without
any investigation.
Documents captured from Zarqawi safe house reveal a
similar plan to have a massacre and blame Iran.

believe Zarqawi’s death was a good thing. We track down and kill

MARINES SET UP AT HADITHA

I believe the marines were set up at Haditha.
Who has the most to gain from a PR victory
for Al-Zarquawi’s Al Quada ? The answer is
obvious. Who is more likely to kill innocent
civilians . Those who killed 50 young children
waiting for day care to open or well trained
and educated Marines.
In Manila in 1945 the Japanese wantonly
killed civilians and used them as shields so
we would kill them. The Filipinos did not
fall for the attempt to blame the Americans.
We see the same thing happening in Iraq.
Our forces were recently charged with shooting
praying Muslims in a Mosque and the Iraq
Government shut down for one day. The set up
attempt was too obvious and even our left and
the MSM did not fall for it. In Haditha they
have Jack Murtha running to talk shows hollering
" In cold blood". You get the impression they
were lined up against a wall and shot.
I think what happened is the IED killed a
Marine. It had to have been set off from a
near by house. They were fired upon from
one of the houses and returned fire killing
the civilians some of whom were armed.
Fighting in that area escalated and the Air Corps
was called in and and even felt it necessary to drop
a 500 pound bomb. This area is filled with terrorist
sympathizers. A set up would not be hard to arrange. Semper Fi
Murtha has ignited the idiot left wing Bush Haters and
the MSM. You can forget about Aruba and Duke
Haditha is new buss word. Don’t lose faith in our
Marines. Look who is making hay out of this
alleged massacre.

VILLA VERDA TRAIL CEMETERY 32nd DIV.

I apologize for quality of the picture. It’s the thought that
counts,
a bitter battle was fought on the Viila Verde Trail with what
was left of Yamashitas Army. This little publicized battle
cost the 32nd Red Arrow Division over 3000 casualties.
The photo tries to show the cemetery at foot of this trail
where the dead are buried.
It is interesting to note the loving care given to this cemetery

March of 1989 was partially funded by the School Children
of the village.
The Filipinos know what these Soldiers did and honor them
to this Day.
I think we should all take a minuet on this Memorial Day
to remember these little forgotten spots and forgotten battles.

SPANISH AMERICAN WAR TAX CUT

In 1898 a long distance telephone call tax was
implemented to pay for the Spanish American War.
The tax only applied to the evil rich because few poor
people made many long distance calls in 1898. You
were taxed 1 cent for every 15 cents spent on long
distance calls, every time the tax came up for renewal
it was increased to support another war or some pet
project that needed financing. Now, 108 years later
we have a President who will rescind this tax and refund
amount collected this year. For most of us a refund of
about $15.00. Think of those companies who make
millions of long distance calls who rates are not dictated
by distance anymore, This nightmare cost some companies
millions. No wonder we need tax reform. We donÂt even
know how many taxes we pay. In my last post on incrementalism
I said the little pig let the wolf get his foot in the door.
I guess I should have said we all let the pig get his foot in the door.

SEAT BELT INCREMENTALISM
As Holidays approach we are greeted by " CLICK IT
OR TICKET " campaigns in which the Federal Government
allocates money to local police departments to ticket you.
I can remember when the Seat Belt Resolution was passed
by the voters in Michigan. Polls showed the issue was headed
for certain defeat but a last minute advertising blitz by
Insurance Companies. And Politicians assured the voting
public that it was for information only, NO tickets would be
issued, no fines accessed and you could not be stopped for
not wearing seat belt. The resolution just barely passed.
So what happens? We are told seat belt compliance is not
high enough to satisfy Federal Government so you will be
given a ticket for not wearing Seat Belt but only for $25.00.
And inclemently every other year the penalties are increased.
It was like the little pig letting the wolf get his foot in the
door. This has become a cash cow for local police and fines
and court cost run $300.00 or more Plus points on Drivers
license which increase cost of Insurance. It seems the
Insurance Companies spent there money wisely supporting
the resolution.
The dangers of incremental politics could not be defined
better than this Seat Belt fiasco.
Wearing a Seat Belt is wise but to have these idiots pay
there expenses with a resolution that promised no fines and
no tickets is criminal. They should wear a mask.

How is it possible to Degrade a Terrorist??
You do this by interrogation? Why did you kill
those sweet little children ? Why did you bomb
a Mosque at prayer time ? Why kill the devoted ?
I do not think it is possible to degrade a terrorist
but our all knowing UN and the Bush Haters do.
Did you see the AP report that said 105 killed in
Afghanistan ? What was your first reaction ? The
terrorist have killed 105 people. ? The fine print
said the " Insurgents lost over 100 killed and
wounded in a fight with collation forces."

AN EDUCATED ARMY

EDUCATED ARMY
The exemplary performance of our troops in Iraq
could be because they are the most educated Army in the
world. Lieutenant and high ranging Sargent have Bachelor
degrees, Majors and up have Masters Degrees. The few
blemishes on there outstanding performance is remarkable.
I was 18 year old when my 32nd Division occupied the island of
Kyushu in southern Japan. I don’t think we had anybody in our
Company with a degree. WE had a few college students drafted
before they could finish college. The Army did not want an
incident as we had 15,000 soldiers on and island of 25 million
Japanese. After third week they took away our ammo and we
stood guard duty with empty rifles. I surprised some Japanese
looting a building and all I could do is holler corporal of the Guard.
I aimed my rifle and said BANG BANG but that cost me a stint
on KP. Later, after I got my Sargent stripes, My truck driver and
I were watching our Japanese labors open a box car load of mail.
Out Jumped some ex army Japanese. Bob and I ran about 50
yards to get our weapons while the soldiers ran the other way.
We were allowed to carry ammo because we were mail guards.
Bob said we better fire we don’t want them to know we did not
have our weapons with us. We may have been the last army
soldiers to fire at the Japanese. The MP Captain to whom we
reported the incident said " Boy Im glad you guys are poor shots"
The next days Stars and Stripes newspaper said rumors of mail
looting were unfounded.
All because the Army did not want an incident.
I can certainly appreciate the jobs are educated Army is doing in Iraq

REVOLT OF THE GENERALS

REVOLT OF GENERALS
Was it a revolt of the Generals or a war against an
entrenched Pentagon bureaucracy President Bush
thought we were spending too much money on
defense and instructed his new Secretary of Defense
to streamline and upgrade the Pentagon. Rumsfeld
was just the man for the job. The war in the Pentagon
was going on long before the War in Iraq, The planning
for the War in Iraq was the chance to implement a fast
striking force that did not utilize the traditional army
of Divisions but smaller units equipped to move fast.
The success of the campaign in Iraq was outstanding.
The criticism followed by the Generals who said we
did not use enough troops. We did not have a plan etc.
What would we have done with 200,000 more troops.
Restore order? We were liberators not conquers. If we
had tried to stop looting We would have been ostracized
as conquerors.. The marine who helped the Iraq’s tear
down Saddam’s statute was reprimanded for interfering
in Iraq affairs. More troops would have offered more
targets for Al Queda. We did not have a plan charge
was ridiculous although it was not the plan the Generals
would have used. We went to work on the economy by
stabilizing dineer opened stock market, and removed
import taxes allowing a flood of consumer supplies.
We increased wages to spur economy. The successful
elections we were told were not possible.
I think the revolt of the Generals is more like a bunch
of spoiled Brats who did not get there way and are
throwing a temper tantrum

HAWAII CANCELS GAS PRICE CAP
Hawaii’s attempt ton control gas prices has failed.
My Daughter runs a business in Hawaii and we
talked about price cap on gas when it started.
She said these idiots don’t know what they are
doing. They are a bunch of Socialist, We were both
surprised when they elected a Republican Women
Governor. She canceled the gas price cap, What was
happening was the government would set a cap
and that became price of gas. It was usually higher
than the free market would charge. When cap was
cancelled the price of gas dropped 5 to 10 cents per
gallon. Any economic student could have predicted
the result. A AOL poll with 88,000 people said 70%
thought Government should put a cap on gas prices.
As a nation are we so economially illiterate that we
think government can control prices. I am afraid the
truth is we are woefully illiterate in basic economics.
